I keep a fire blanket and a in the kitchen in case a fire should break out.

I carry out fire drills shortly after a new child starts and also every month so that all of the children in my care understand what they need to do in the event of a real fire.  

Over time, we will cover all eventualities, but always in a fun but controlled manner so that the children are not frightened or upset in any way.

When the alarm sounds, the children will be led out of the house via the closest exit and we will congregate at the front of the house.
