Commencing provision of childcare
Child Record Forms: I must have a completed child record form before I can care for your child. It is parents responsibility to inform me of any changes to this information.
Settling In: Before admission planned visits are arranged for both yourself and your child. This is to make sure that your child is as settled as possible in their new environment. These usually consist of three sessions:
The first will be for around an hour where both yourself and your child will stay the whole session joining in activities and meeting other children in my care. The second session will be for around an hour and half where your child will stay the whole session and you will stay as long as needed to settle, usually around half an hour.
The last session will be for around two hours where your child will stay the whole session and you will leave as soon as your child is settled, usually within fifteen minutes. There are no fees for these sessions.
School collection: It is your responsibility to ensure the school/nursery is aware of our engagement and you are responsible for the setup of arrangements of my collection and drop-off of your child.
Services that I provide
Equal Opportunities: All children are treated with equal concern. No child in my care will be discriminated against in anyway, whether for their skin colour, culture, gender, ability or religion. I will challenge any remarks that I feel are inappropriate. I give all children in my care the opportunity to reach their full potential. Sometimes this means adapting an activity to the child’s ability and stage of development, providing additional resources or giving one child more attention and support than others during a particular activity or routine. All children in my care are given the opportunity to play with all the toys (subject to health and safety with children under 3 years of age). No toys are just for girls or just for boys. I try to ensure my toys reflect positive images of children and people from different cultures and with different abilities.
Food and Drink: A balanced diet is provided for breakfast, hot lunch and cold tea if required. Healthy snacks will also be available throughout the day. Water, fruit juice and milk will be available throughout the day as well.
Drop off and Collection: are available from any school or nursery in the area. I will only release your child from my care to adults who have permission to collect him/her. I will therefore need you to provide me with a list of people authorised to collect. It would be helpful, if they are known to me and to include a description or a photograph for me to keep on file. In the event of an emergency, we can operate a password system where you can send someone not authorised to collect your child but who is able to give the password.
Should your child not be attending school, or be collected by somebody else, again please advise me.
In an Emergency: In the event of a medical emergency, I will give first aid treatment and seek medical advice if required.
Medication: Parents must give me prior written consent and written instructions before I can administer any medication to their child. I keep written records of all medications administered to children. Each entry is signed by myself and by the parent before taking their children home.
Transportation: I must have written authorisation from parent or guardian for transportation. I have fully comprehensive vehicle insurance for any journeys undertaken with your child. An appropriate car seat for the age of the child will be used at all times.
